About Borneo
|
|
Borneo has a diverse population consisting of 32 ethnic communities, and boasts some of the world's greatest wildlife treasures. Sabah is part of the island of Borneo known as "The Land Below the Wind" because geographically it is situated below the typhoon and monsoon belt. In Sabah you find the highest mountain in South East Asia, Mount Kinabalu, located in the Kinabalu National Park. The park is Malaysia's first World Heritage Site, full of jungles, rivers and wildlife. |
'Borneo’s flamboyant primates are famous for having big noses. What you might not know about them is they’re graceful, they can swim, and they’re in trouble'... National Geographic August 2002.

Borneo Rainforest Charity Trek
This jungle charity trek will take you from sea level to the highest point in South East Asia – Mount Kinabalu, at 4,101m. You will trek through an area with some of the richest flora in the world, along river valleys, through rich lowland rainforest, villages, paddy fields, pineapple and rubber plantations to reach the trail for the summit of Mount Kinabalu. Mount Kinabalu has, for most of history, been a sacred spot. Kinabalu Park, a World Heritage Site, is famous largely for the climb to the top of the peak but the beauty of the route along the way is as amazing as the view from the top. |
Borneo Multi Activity Challenge From beaches to mountains, from lazy jungle rivers to raging torrents, this multi activity charity challenge takes you into and through the heart of Borneo, experiencing the essence of this complex and thrilling location.
