About Chile

Print this panel email to a friend

Patagonia, which spans a vast expanse of southern Chile and Argentina, is unquestionably one of the world's most unspoilt and beautiful regions. Patagonia and the dramatic Torres del Paine National Park at the southern end of Chile, is ranked as one of the world's best trekking areas. The park was declared an international biosphere reserve by UNESCO in 1978. With unsurpassed splendor the peaks rise dramatically out of the surrounding plains like a giant's fortress. Stretching down from the Andes into a myriad of glacial fjords and islands in the south, these unique features form the backdrop for this amazing charity trek.

Chile Torres Del Paine Charity Trek

Join our charity trek to Patagonia and explore the Torres del Paine mountain range with it's pristine snow-clad peaks, glaciers spilling into ice cold lakes, and superb wildlife.

There are very few places in the world where the majesty of Patagonia's mountains are matched and our trek will allow those involved to experience the enormity of the Torres mountain range whilst exploring its many valleys. The park is a haven for many species of flora and fauna, including the biggest population of condors in the Americas. Trekkers will also almost certainly have the chance to see various other birds of prey, flamingos and the llama-like guanaco.

The week will culminate with an ascent to the 'mirador' or viewpoint at the base of the world famous towers.

The Andes Crossing Charity Bike Ride

The Andes range starts in Venezuela and travels along the Pacific Ocean down to “Tierra del Fuego” (Land of Fire) in the very south of Patagonia. It is a region of contrasts, from the cold, humid and windy Andes and glaciers of Patagonia to the Central Andes where we find huge peaks like Aconcagua (the highest mountain in the Americas). Our bike adventure takes place in the middle of the Andes, far away from civilization, and over the six days we face challenging uphill sections, watch condors soaring overhead, wash in glacial springs, sleep under pure cloudless skies, and enjoy some thrilling downhill sections.

In Patagonia, we support the work of Gladys and Oscar Oguineo - naturalists working to study and preserve the very rare Humules Deer, which is endemic to the southern part of South America.
