Nicaragua lies right in the heart of Central America, bordered by Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south. It extends to the Pacific and Caribbean coasts. With a population of only four million and a landmass of 130,000km2, it is the largest and least densely populated of all Central American states. Known as "the land of lakes and volcanoes" it offers many exciting possibilities for trekking and biking.
