"Is there a company out there that is made up of charity event managers and outdoor professionals who will understand my needs as a charity?"

Yes - at Across the Divide Expeditons, both the founding directors used to be event managers at major charities and our Events and Operations team is headed up by another.

What is it that makes us so different? Our staff are taken from all walks of life- because that is where our clients come from, we choose them for their ability to operate under pressure, work as a team and for their boundless enthusiasm - they are what makes Across the Divide so different and why our clients keep coming back to us.

It is a requirement now that all Across the Divide's Expedition Doctors and medics complete the Expedition Medicine Course run twice yearly in the Lake District. This course is the most comprehensive of its type as recommended by both the British Medical Journal (December 2005) and Conde Nast Traveller (March 2006). Further details about how to become an expedition doctor click here.

We must be doing something right!
'I wanted to send Across the Divide a quick email to thank you and your team for all your hard work over the last year. Cancer Research UK has had a fantastic fundraising year in 2003 - 04 and International Treks and have raised £1.5million - doubling our income from 2002 - 03. We have also significantly improved the cost ratio on the events meaning that for the first time ever more than two thirds of the money raised from the treks goes to fund cancer research and not cover costs of operating the events. Thank you for Across the Divide's efforts in maintaining low tour costs wherever possible which has enabled us to achieve these low cost ratios - it really does help make a difference. Cancer Research UK

I look forward to continuing to work together over the next year - we have an even higher budget (of course!) and are aiming to raise £2million from the treks. The treks organised by Across the Divide will make a significant contribution to this target and I'm sure we'll achieve these targets and more!

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU AT ATD FOR SUCH A FANTASTIC JOB!! The event was a huge success!! I'm going to forward you some of the emails I've been receiving from participants so you can pass them around to your team as the response has been staggering- you guys really are the best.. Kerry Dyer Event Manager MS Society.

Thanks again, the whole event was so well organised and such a pleasure to be with such happy people. Denise Hatchard.

....Wow. What an amazing thing. Louisa and I have just returned from bigfoot Cheshire; we're sore, we're tired, but hell we had a Fantastic time to boot(!) Congratulations to everyone at ATD Expeditions.. I can't express how happy, proud, and thrilled we are to have raised over £1000 to help the ms society, and we had the most Fabulous time doing it. Will we do it next year? You bet! Claire and Louisa.
